My family has always considered me to be a difficult person to buy gifts for. I have no idea why, since I never let on when I don’t care much for something they have given me. Because I believe in being courteous at all costs, I always smile graciously and thank the giver even when I’ve been given a gift that I know that I’ll never use. However, for my last birthday, my youngest granddaughter gave me a gift that I have truly enjoyed. She presented me with a box full of a large assortment of top-quality japanese green teas. I found each variety to be a delicious treat in its own right.
I have since discovered that Japanese green teas have many health benefits, and I’ve been making sure to drink at least two cups per day. The times I enjoy it the most are when my granddaughter comes to visit during teatime. Depending on the time of year, we take our afternoon tea by a bright fire in the great room or under the elm tree in my back yard.
